Our team has seen how people can be treated and how sometimes, family law matters are unnecessarily drawn out by lawyers who are driven by their law firm’s bottom line and not what is best for their client. We do things differently. We value each and every one of our clients and we make sure they know they are not merely ‘another file’ to us. SR Family Law is built on a belief that clients deserve a personalised service that is customised to their individual family law matter. Every family is unique and each person deserves a unique approach to their family law needs.
We pride ourselves on doing family law differently – our own way of doing family law that is distinct from what is offered by other family law firms because we care.
We help people and families going through separation, divorce and other family law matters not only on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, but in under resourced rural and remote regions. That’s why we developed Farmgate Family Law to help people on the land and in areas beyond the big cities.
We are proud that the majority of our clients come to us through personal referrals from their friends, family and colleagues. We are trusted by our existing and former clients who refer us because they know we offer an exceptional legal team with a personalised level of service.

What do we mean by that?
Most days our team will meet to discuss where each of our clients are at with their family law matters. We identify their immediate needs and brainstorm solutions. At certain points in the process you might need strong legal direction. At other points, you’ll need reassurance and comfort. We do not take a cookie cutter approach to our clients – we get to know not just your legal matter, but who you are as a person so that we can offer you a customised, tailored service that empowers you as you navigate your way through your family law matter.
We created this business because we are aligned in our values and have complementary strengths, and this is central to how we handpick and carefully grow our legal team. Somerset Storyfest
Our Director, Tilly Ryan volunteers for Storyfest which is a Gold Coast festival of storytelling for the whole family. A wordsmith by nature Tilly is passionate about opening eyes and hearts and sharing lived experience through the written word.
Asbestosis & Mesothelioma Association of Australia (AMAA)
Our Director, Tilly Ryan also volunteers for AMAA after being exposed to the impact of these diseases through her husband’s work. AMAA provides support to sufferers of asbestos disease and their families.
Highlander Hero Award
The Highlander Hero Award recognises and honours individuals who embody the spirit of community contribution and overcoming physical barriers, building mental resilience and learning what it truly means to be a part of a community.
At SR Family Law we know that when you contribute to community, you not only support your community, you also strengthen it. This is an ethos we value, and one of the reasons behind the launch of Farmgate Family Law.
